The FUCAM project (FUture Cabin for the Asian Market), a Horizon 2020 collaborative project, aims at developing a conceptual cabin interior design dedicated to the Asian markets in the year 2025 and onwards. The project will analyse the user requirements from the airlines' and passengers' perspectives in Japan and two other key markets representative of the Asian area (China, South-East Asia).

Who we are

FUCAM is a 3-year EU-Japan collaborative project gathering the significant expertise of 9 research and industrial partners from 6 European countries and from Japan. The core competence of the FUCAM team originates from the fact that its members represent the entire value chain when designing a new cabin or cabin interiors, from very upstream research to industrial end product.

What we did

FUCAM researchers dived deeper into the usability of lower deck scenarios and seat design. The holistic cabin concept, composed over the three-year span of the project, provides innovative high density seat layouts and dedicated seat solutions on the main deck, combined with extra offers on the lower deck which is transformed into a passenger zone.
